A few shortcuts we think you’ll find really useful:
music player and FM radio
To quickly access the music player or FM radio,
simply press
[ or Í.
quick text
Use quick text to access the Message screen with a
single key press. To set quick text on your home
screen, press
s > l Personalize > Home Screen > Home Keys
> key > Quick Text.

To quickly switch your ring style, press and hold #
from the home screen.
recent calls
To see your dialled and received calls, press
s > Recent Calls.
voicemail
Press and hold 1. If your voicemail number is pre-
set, you will connect.
calls
Yes, your phone makes calls too! And it’s very
good at it.

Enter a number and press N.
answer a call
When your phone rings or
vibrates, open the phone flip or
press
N.
end a call
Close the phone flip, or
press
P.
redial a number
1 From the home screen, press N to see a list of
recently dialed calls.
2 Scroll to the entry you want to call, and press N.
emergency calls
Your service provider programs one or more
emergency phone numbers, such as 911, on your
phone. Provided that the phone is switched on and in
network coverage, you can make emergency calls
using the programmed numbers, even when your
phone is locked or the SIM card is not inserted
(where allowed by the network operator).
Check with your service provider, as emergency
numbers vary by country. Your phone’s pre-
programmed emergency number(s) may not work in
all locations, and sometimes an emergency call
cannot be placed due to network, environmental, or
interference issues. Do not solely rely on your
wireless phone for essential communications, such
as medical emergencies.
To m ake an an emergency call:
Turn your phone on, exit any
application such as games, then
press
N to call the emergency
number.
music
When music is what you need...
To use the music player, insert a microSD memory
card, which is an optional accessory.
The music player supports MP3, MIDI, iMelody, and
AMR music file formats. Your phone cannot play
WMA or AAC or AAC+ or AAC++ files, or MP3 files
with a bit rate higher than 320 kbps.

Copy music to your phone’s memory card:
1 Insert a memory card in your phone, then use a
USB cable to connect your phone and your PC.
2 On your phone, press Yes to connect the phone as
a storage device. Name the device “W259
Mobile” and click Finish.
3 On your PC, open MicrosofWindows® Media
Player 11.
4 On the Sync tab, select More Options. Under
Device, select W259 Mobile.
5 Select Properties, check the “Create folder
hierarchy on device” box, and click OK.
TIP: To access music stored on your microSD
memory card, press
s > h Multimedia > Music Library,
press
s > Switch Storage Devices.

seconds to turn the phone on/off.

select the highlighted option.

Choose the features you want to access with a single
keypress from the home screen—really useful stuff:

set your screen saver and wallpaper
Change the wallpaper and screen saver images
to ones that make you smile.

s > l Personalize > Screen Saver or Wallpaper
set ringtone and volume
There are times when you want to hear your ringtone
in all its glory, and there are times when you don’t.
Press
s > w Settings > Ring Style
Choose from the pre-programmed styles, including
Vibrate and Silent.
set your smart key
The smart key is a great option. Use it to access a
feature of your choice from the home screen, or use it
to play and pause music during music playback.
To set the menu item accessed by the smart key,
press
s > l Personalize > Home Screen > Home Keys
> Smart Key.
‘flip open to answer
Answer a call by just opening the flip.
Press
s > w Settings > In Call Setup > Answer Options
> Open to Answer.

Create a custom menu of your favorite features and
tools using the MyMenu feature.
Scroll to a desired menu item and press and hold
s
until the MyMenu confirmation appears.
To access your custom menu, press
s > É Office Tools > MyMenu.
Made a new friend? Urgently need to contact
someone? No problem, saving and calling your
contacts is effortless.

1 Enter the number on the home screen and press
Store.
2 Enter contact details.
3 Press Done when you’re finished.
call a contact
1 Press s > Phonebook.
2 Scroll through the list to highlight the contact’s
number.
3 Press N.

Messaging is great, everyone thinks so. Here are a
few basics to get you going:
send a message
1 Press s > Messages > Create > Create Message.
2 Select the message type: SMS/EMS or MMS.
3 Enter your message, and/or insert a Picture, Animation,
Sound, Quick Notes message, or Contact Info.
TIP: Press
# to switch text entry modes. Press
0 to switch capitalization modes. Press * to
enter a space.
4 Press OK and scroll to a contact.
5 Press ADD and scroll to any other contact/s you
wish to add.
6 Once you have added the contact(s), press Send.
read a message
When you receive a message you will see 1 New Message
on your screen. Press Read to open the message. You
can reply to the message by pressing Reply.
FM radio
Listen to your favorite music or news program.
1 Plug a 2.5mm headset into your phone.
Note: The FM radio works only when the headset
is plugged in.
2 Press Í.
To t u n e in a station, press
S left or right.
To s can avai lable stations, press and hold
S left or
right. Repeat to go to more stations.
To adjust volume, press the up or down volume keys
on the side of the phone (ideal when the flip is
closed), or press
S up or down.
To t u r n o f f t h e r adio, press Options > FM Radio Off.

When listening to a station, press and hold a number
key
1 through 9 to store the station as a preset
for that number key. To select a preset station, press
the number key for the station you want.
USB Drag & Drop
Use the USB cable to connect your phone and PC,
then simply drag & drop.
Note: Please download the USB charging driver onto
your PC, at

1 Insert a memory card in your phone, then use a
USB cable to connect your phone and your PC.
Note: Your phone supports the Microsof
Windows® 2000 and Windows XP™ operating
systems.
2 On your phone, press Yes to connect the phone as
a storage device.
3 On your PC, open the My Computer window and
click on the Removable Disk memory card icon.
4 Drag and drop files from your PC to the \Music or
\Pictures folder on the memory card.
5 When you’re finished, select the Safely Remove
Hardware icon in the system tray at the bottom
of your PC screen. Then select USB Mass
Storage Devices and Stop.
